CLASS AAA CARROLLTON BEATS CLASS AAAAA NEWNAN: Carrollton's defense proved it was for real with a 14-7 win over Newnan.<br>

The Trojans (2-0) held Newnan (0-2) quarterback Tyler Horne, who is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the state, to 6-of-11 passing for 73 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.<br>

``We kept them from driving the ball all night long,'' Carrollton coach Rayvan Teague said. ``It is our weight room versus their weight room. I felt our kids sucked it up at the end and played smash mouth football.''<br>

Newnan had little success against Carrollton. The Cougars netted 64 yards on 21 carries.<br>

Trojans running back Sanchez Houston had 21 carries for 125 yards. Quarterback Blake Caldwell completed 6-of-11 pass attempts for 73 yards and did not turn the ball over.
