Toddler dies after being mauled by dog

<p>A 2-year-old died Thursday about three hours after being mauled by a dog at the Cook County home where she lived with her mother, authorities said.</p><p>The dog that attacked Patricia J. Anderson about 10 a.m. was described as a bulldog mix that was tied up behind the house owned by friends of her mother in the Chaserville area.</p><p>The toddler was taken to Adel Memorial Hospital and transferred to South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, where she died between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., said Sgt. Terry Arnold, chief investigator with the Cook County Sheriff's Department.</p><p>The dog was euthanized, investigator Brent Exum said.</p><p>Investigators said no charges had been filed.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x28681f4)</p>
