LaGrange's Doyle tied for 2nd after first round

DEARBORN, MICHIGAN - Alan Doyle is tied for second place going into Friday's second round of the Senior Players Championship. <br>

The golfer from LaGrange won the event three years ago. Doyle shot a four-under-par 68 Thursday to tie with five other players three shots behind leader Gil Morgan, who shot a 7-under 65. <br>

Joining Doyle at 68 are Dana Quigley, Bruce Fleisher, Isao Aoki, Jose Maria Canizares and Mark James. <br>
<br>
Hale Irwin - the top-ranked player on the Champions Tour - is in a group of seven at 69. The $2.5 million Senior Players tournament - at the TPC of Michigan - is the first of three straight majors. <br>
<br>
In two weeks, the Senior British Open starts, followed by the U.S. Senior Open the following week near Saint Louis.
