Two people threaten interstate suicides in Atlanta

<p>Another man threatening to jump from an overpass shut down all eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 in Atlanta for about 20 minutes Tuesday, police said.</p><p>Police lined up four 18-wheelers beneath I-20 at Wesley Chapel Road to break the man's fall, said officer Dale Davis of DeKalb County police. But police stopped him before it came to that.</p><p>The unidentified man has not been charged with a crime, Davis said.</p><p>The man, who was grabbed by police before he could jump, was the second person to threaten to leap from an overpass in Atlanta on Tuesday. Earlier, a man had placed a rope around his neck but was talked down from a bridge over the I-75 and I-85 connector.</p><p>There have been at least two other people who threatened to commit suicide by leaping from interstate overpasses surrounding Atlanta.</p><p>On April 7, a 32-year-old alleged crack cocaine user who was upset with his wife threatened to jump above the connector.</p><p>On May 27, a man injured himself when he fell about 30 feet onto I-75 after police tried to grab him.</p>
