GAINESVILLE - Some of the 500-or-so gallons of wastewater that overflowed a pump station in Gainesville Thursday morning got into a river tributary.

City officials say it it happened about 6:00.

They say the problem occurred at a pump station near Old Hamilton Place.

They say crews from the Public Utilities Department quickly stopped the flow, but not before some of the sewage got into an Oconee River tributary.
