DULUTH - The ECHL announced Thursday that Gladiators General Manager Steve Chapman was selected as one of the top four ECHL executives in recognition of his exceptional management of the Gwinnett Gladiators inaugural season and relocation from Mobile, Alabama, along with his leadership role within the ECHL. <br>

The "ECHL Executive of the Year" Award for the 2003-04 season was presented to Alaska Aces' GM Terry Parks.<br>
<br>
In his seventh season as a General Manager in the ECHL, Chapman oversaw one of the most successful seasons in Gladiators team history. Gwinnett set team records for most points (92), most wins (42) and fewest losses (22) while advancing to the Western Conference Finals while winning the ECHL Central Division Championship.<br>

Jim Brazill of the Johnstown Chiefs and Billy Johnson of the Las Vegas Wranglers along with Chapman were named runners up for the award which was determined by a vote of ECHL governors.<br>

First awarded in the 1993 season, previous winners of the "Executive of the Year" Award include John Butler of Peoria in 2003, Matt Loughran of Atlantic City in 2002, Craig Brush of Florida in 2001, current ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna then with Trenton in 2000, Carl Scheer of Greenville in 1999, Charles Felix with Pensacola in 1998, David Patison of Columbus (OH) Chill in 1997, Dave Barryman of Louisiana in 1996, Harry Feuerstein and Craig Laughlin of Richmond in 1995, John Gagnon and Pierre Paiement of Roanoke in 1994 and Larry Kish of Wheeling (Thunderbirds) in 1993.
