UNDATED - Gasoline prices in Gainesville - which were flirting with $2.00 a gallon for regular unleaded just a couple of weeks ago - have dropped noticably the last few days.

Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey says that's also true nationwide, where the average price is down 6 1/2 cents a gallon.

In Gainesville, along one stretch of Brown's Bridge Road/Jewell Parkway/Butler Parkway Monday morning, prices for regular unleaded ranged from $1.77 to $1.82.
