MURRAYVILLE - No serious injuries were reported in a weather-related accident that occurred on Thompson Bridge Road near Squirrel Creek Tueday night.

The wreck involved a a tractor-trailer and a car.

The state patrol's Donna Garrett says it occurred about 6:30 when the car hydroplaned on wet roads during a heavy thunderstorm, went out of control and struck the 18-wheeler.

The driver of the car was 18-year-old Elizabeth Calvert of Lula who, according to Garrett, was charged with driving too fast for conditions.

Calvert suffered minor injuries, but was not taken to the hospital, according to Garrett.

The truck driver, Mellondy West, 36, of Dahlonega, was not injured.
