Two from Hall among Brenau Academy graduates honored

GAINESVILLE - Brenau Academy in Gainesville graduated thirteen seniors with end-of-the-year honors and awards recently, and two students from Hall County were among them: Valarie Lynn Borchert of Flowery Branch and Jordyn Paige Weavil of Gainesville.<br> <br> The complete list is as follows: <br> <br> Brooke Chandler Beard of Duluth, Ga., graduated with the U.S. President's Award for Educational Improvement. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Beard. <br> <br> Valerie Lynn Borchert of Flowery Branch, Ga., was the 2004 Salutatorian. She delivered the Salutatorian's welcoming speech at Graduation and graduated History Student of the Year. She also was awarded the U.S. President's Award for Educational Excellence; Scholar Athlete of the Year and a Dean's List Certificate for the Year. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Borchert. <br> <br> Sarah Brand of Austin, Texas, graduated with a Post-Graduate Certificate and is headed to college. She is the daughter of Jim Brand. <br> <br> Allison Nicole DeLuca of Charlotte, N.C., graduated with the Most Improved Student Medal. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marc DeLuca. <br> <br> Alyson Guthrie Falk of Austin, Texas, graduated with the Faculty Award for Excellence. She was also named English Student of the Year; Mathematics Student of the Year and Foreign Language Student of the Year. She was awarded the Student of the Year in Dance medal and received the Dean's List Certificate for the Year. Falk's achievements also included the 3rd place Poetry Award from "The Metamorphosis"
