UNDATED - Braselton and Nicholson are the sites chosen for two subdivisions that envision a total of almost 1,300 new homes.
According to the Norton Company's Market Watch, a Snellville developer, Mike Malerby, is proposing a 271-lot residential development in Braselton at Georgia Highway 53 and New Liberty Church Road.
The Nicholson development would consist of 1,000 homes and also be located on Highway 53. That project would have a 10-to-12 year build-out timeline and would also include a grocery store. That developer is Bud Chandler.
Also, according to Market Watch, Home Depot is slated to begin construction this spring on a store adjacent to the Wal-Mart Super Center on US 441 in Clayton. They project a mid-2005 opening date.
In Pickens County the Jasper Village Shopping Center at the intersection of Highway 53 and Highway 515 could open by December with both a new Home Depot and a Kroger store employing more than 300 people.
