GAINESVILLE - In a speech next month at Gainesville College, the principal of White County High School will address impact on local school systems of the Bush administration's "No Child Left Behind Act."

Dr. Richard Krise has developed a PowerPoint presentation that examines the promises made on the "No Child Left Behind" website with the "realities of its implementation at the local level."

Dr. Krise acknowledges the positive goals of the Act, such as the focus on parental involvement, highly qualified teachers, and educating every child to his or her greatest potential. Unfortunately, Krise contends, many of the Act's goals are not supported by either scientific research or funding of the federal mandate.

His presentation will be made June 10 in the Gainesville College Student Center.
