Toddler dies after falling from hotel balcony

<p>A 18-month-old whose family was vacationing from Georgia has died after falling six stories from a hotel balcony.</p><p>Ashley Chandler Neesmith, of Darien, Ga., was pronounced dead at 10:44 a.m. Wednesday at a hospital, less than an hour after he fell onto a pool deck at The Breakers Resort Hotel, Horry County Deputy Coroner Dan Bellamy said.</p><p>Police are investigating the cause of the fall.</p><p>"We don't think we'll have charges pending," Detective Eric DiLorenzo said.</p><p>The boy arrived in Myrtle Beach on Tuesday with his parents, an aunt, an uncle and four other children.</p><p>Family members told police the boy's mother, 25-year-old Sassity Neesmith, was in the shower and his father, 28-year-old Ashley Neesmith, was asleep when he fell. An aunt watching the boy had turned away for a moment to wake up the boy's father and the boy left the room, police said.</p><p>Since 1999, only one other toddler has died of a fall in South Carolina, according to the state Department of Health and Environmental Control.</p>
