Connie Davis, Red Carpet volunteer chairman for the chamber, says volunteers are needed to blanket the stops the entourage will make with flags, signs, banners, and balloons - "extras," if you will, who will help add a "local " flavor to the greeting.
"But," Davis added, "those 'extras' will be just as important (as anyone else.)"
The Red Carpet Tour - which showcases the state to business and industry executives from all over the world - will arrive Friday about 2:00 p.m. at Road Atlanta, with additional stops planned downtown, at the Lake Lanier Olympic Center, and, and Riverside Military Academy, where they will be feted to a banquet and fireworks over Lake Lanier to conclude their visit.
Davis says about 300 people have already signed up to help, but that about 200 more - children and adults - are needed.
What's in it for a volunteer?
"I think they will get a lot of community service out of helping our committee welcome these wonderful VIPs into our area," she said.
