Rey Reyes, 40, and his wife were driving northbound on Interstate 75 shortly after midnight when the couple got into an argument, Marietta police said in a news release. Reyes allegedly stopped the car on the side of the road and struck his wife several times before forcing her out of the car and driving off with their son, Harrison Georgia Reyes.
The woman, who has not been identified, told police that Reyes has considered suicide before and might leave the child unattended if he decided to harm himself.
The child was last seen wearing a green and red striped jumper with long sleeves.
Reyes, who was wearing a lime green polo shirt and jeans, was last seen exiting I-75 on Barrett Parkway. He's driving a 2000 silver, four-door Saab with Georgia tag 880ZEW.
