Trial of drowning suit was to begin in Dahlonega Monday

DAHLONEGA - The trial of a suit growing out of the accidential drowning of a three-year-old girl nearly three years ago was to begin in Dahlonega Monday.

Samantha Pointer died at a swimming pool operated by the Lumpkin County Parks and Recreation Department.

She was on an outing at the time with a group from Love-A-Lot Day Care Center. Several park and recreation employees and a number of employees and board members from the day care center are the defendants in the case.
