GAINESVILLE - Local supporters of Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry will meet in Gainesville later this week for a campaign strategy session.

They plan to brainstorm ways to build visibility and "create a greater understanding of his positions" on key issues. Also on the agenda: work on developing plans for building support for Kerry's candidacy, including voter canvassing and registration.

The meeting is Thursday at 7 p.m. at O'Charley's on Brown's Bridge Road.

Organizers say they are looking for support from anyone interested in the defeat of President Bush in November - regardless of party affiliation.

The meeting is one of hundreds scheduled around the country Thursday.
