Lakeview boys win Region 8-A North title

GAINESVILLE - Chris Gatti&#39;s come-from-behind, three-set win over Towns County&#39;s John Frketic propeled the No. 2 seed Lakeview boys tennis team to a 3-2 win over the top-seeded Indians to take the Region 8-A North title Wednesday.<br> <br> Gatti lost the first set 6-7 (9-7) but rallied to win the next two 6-0, 6-2.<br> <br> Both teams advance to the region tournament Monday at Lakeview and also qualify for the state tournament.<br> <br> The Lions advanced to the quarterfinals with a 3-1 win over Tallulah Falls in the first round.<br> <br> Lakeview and Towns split singles matches at Nos. 1 and 3 with Lakeview&#39;s James Francis winning at No. 3 over Hank Clay and the Indians&#39; Nathan Kane beating David Ellis at No. 1.<br> <br> Lakeview&#39;s No. 1 doubles team of Payden Sewell and David Burleson won while Shea Taylor and Jared Wright of Towns won at No. 2 doubles setting the stage for the dramatic match at No. 2 singles.
