Times wins four AP awards, not two

ATLANTA - The Times in Gainesville was recognized for four awards at the 2003 Georgia Associated Press Association News Awards luncheon Saturday at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Hotel, not two as the AP reported over the weekend.<br>

The Times news staff won third place in sports writing for ``Top dog is an elephant.'' <br>
<br>
The Times' Keith Albertson won third place in Editorial Writing for the ``Dean's crack proves Miller's point about Democrats in South'' piece. <br>
<br>
The awards that were omitted in the earlier story went to Jim Chapman, 2nd place in Graphics and Illustrations, for a Bob Hope graphic, and Tom Reed/Scott Rogers, 3rd place in Photo Illustration, for a photo illustration titled "Why this flag?"
