Three young boys and their babysitter were killed Thursday in a fire at a mobile home in central Georgia that investigators strongly believe was caused by someone cooking methamphetamines in the kitchen.

"We have every reason to believe that chemical process was going on and may have caused or contributed to the fire," Spalding County sheriff's Capt. Franklin Allen told The Associated Press.

Police are treating the case as a homicide, Allen said.

Two men who escaped the burned-out trailer unharmed _ Jason Martin and Robert Ivey _ were questioned and later released. They are still under investigation, and police have information that both have been involved in the drug trade before, Allen said. No charges have yet been filed.

"We received information from sources at the scene that the two gentlemen who got out unhurt may have been cooking meth," Allen said. "Based on that information, we are pursuing the investigation in that direction."

Police have taken blood samples from the men. They have also sent swabs of the sink, stove and pots and pans to a Drug Enforcement Administration lab in Miami to be analyzed, Allen said.

Martin's sister, Jennifer Martin, 27, and the three brothers she was baby-sitting _ Destin Moore, 2; Christian Moore, 3; and Joshua Moore, 5 _ were killed in the 4:30 a.m. fire at the Pine Glen Mobile Home Park, about 35 miles south of Atlanta.

The boys' mother had brought the children over to the trailer Wednesday evening to be watched by Jennifer Martin, Allen said.

All of the bodies were found near a door leading out of the trailer, authorities said. Allen said the boys all died from smoke inhalation. Police did not release a cause of death for Jennifer Martin.
