GSU Panthers lose to Troy State 63-62 in Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Greg Davis scored 14 points and hit a free throw with 2.3 seconds left as Troy State came from behind to beat Georgia State 63-62 on Friday in the semifinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament.<br>

Troy State (24-5) will play Central Florida in Saturday's final.<br>
<br>
Georgia State (20-9) went on a 10-0 run early the second half to take a 50-35 lead and remained up 60-49 on a layup by Lamont McIntosh with 3:16 left.<br>
<br>
But the Trojans pressure broke down the Panthers, and Davis tied the score at 62 on a pair of free throws with 30.1 seconds left. Troy State forced Georgia State's 26th turnover when Davis made a steal of the ensuing inbound pass.<br>

He was fouled with 2.3 seconds left and made the second attempt.<br>
<br>
The Panthers turned the ball over again to end the game.<br>
<br>
Davis, the Atlantic Sun player of the year, was the key when it counted, despite hitting just 4 of 18 field goal attempts, and going 1-of-11 from 3-point range. Troy State went 5-of-34 from beyond the arc.<br>

Rob Lewin scored 19 points and Herbert Evans added 12 from Troy State.<br>
<br>
Georgia State's Nate Williams scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds. Marcus Brown added 16 points and McIntosh finished with 14 points.<br>
