JEFFERSON - The man who runs Jackson County's ambulance service is retiring after a 30-year career with the county. <br>

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director Dwain Smith has been with the county since 1974 when he came on board as Emergency Management Agency Director (then known as Civil Defense Director). <br>
