Dennis Bergin of Cleveland, the former city manager in Flowery Branch, has been tapped for the job.
Bergin resigned his position in Flowery Branch in January and is already at work in Lula.
Mayor Milton Turner said last last month the growth in Lula, especially along Georgia 365, points to the need for a "professional" to run the town's day-to-day operation.
"We're looking at a large sewer plant and speaking with our engineers, they're (telling us we) definitely need a city manager before you jump into this," Turner said at the time.
