Northeast Georgia teacher receives presidential award

ATLANTA - Two Georgia teachers have received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.<br> <br> Janice Hudson, a science teacher at Columbus High School in Columbus, and Heather Marshall, a math teacher at Towns County Middle School in Hiawassee, were announced as winners Monday.<br> <br> Hudson and Marshall are the only two recipients of Georgia. Ninety-five teachers nationwide received the award. All are seventh- through 12th-grade teachers.<br> <br> Both Hudson and Marshall traveled to Washington, D.C., this week for an awards ceremony and will receive $10,000 from the National Science Foundation.
