UNDATED - Springlike weather Saturday, the first day of spring, gave way to cooler-than normal weather Sunday and freezing and near-freezing temperatures returned Monday morning.

The colder weather rode into the state Sunday on strong, gusty winds.

A freeze warning was posted for Sunday night by the National Weather Service - and another has been issued for Monday night.

The weather service says this will threaten young, outdoor plants. This tender vegegation should be protected and potted plants that may have been placed outside should be covered or moved inside.

Readings around the area at 7:00 Monday morning included 32 in Baldwin, Cleveland, and Gainesville; 28 in Blue Ridge; and 30 in Cumming.
