Lakeview girls tune up for Jefferson against AIS

GAINESVILLE - Chelsey Chastain scored 24 points in just over 16 minutes Saturday night to lead the Lakeview Academy girls basketball team to 58-16 rout of Atlanta International School.

The Lakeview boys rallied to beat AIS 60-49 to get the sweep.

The Class A ninth-ranked Lady Lions (16-4) opened the game with a 20-4 first quarter and then held AIS to just four points in the entire second half.

It was a nice tune-up for Lakeview, which will travel to Jefferson Tuesday with a chance to claim the Region 8-A North title, their first ever.

Christi Thomas added 8 points and Nadia Muhanna had 5 points and 10 rebounds. Hillary Stanford dished out 6 assists.

The Lady Lions have now won 10 of their last 11 games.
