"After a traffic study was conducted in the area, our traffic engineers determined a traffic signal was needed at the intersection," Long explained. "Federal guidelines strictly dictate what type of traffic control device is needed at a particular intersection based on traffic counts and accident history. This location warranted a traffic signal."
"The signal was installed (Wednesday) morning," noted Long. "Testing of the signal is underway and once testing has been completed, the signal will be operational by the afternoon of Wednesday, February 25th if weather permits."
