GAINESVILLE - Today is the final day you can "advance vote" in Hall County and most of the rest of Georgia for next Tuesday's referendums and presidential primaries.

Advance voting is a new concept in Georgia which allows a registered voter to cast a ballot the week prior to an election.

Election officials in Gainesville said earlier in the week they were impressed with the turnout.

This is the first time it has been used for a countywide eleciton, although it was used last November in the municipal elections in the county. The only place to vote in the Hall County Board of Elections and Registrar's Office at Dawsonville Highweay and Pearl Nix Parkway.

Flowery Branch voters can also vote in advance for their special city council election which is also to be held next Tuesday. That balloting is taking place at Flowery Branch City Hall.
