William's Seafood restaurant in Savannah destroyed by fire

<p>Williams Seafood Restaurant, a popular eatery located on U.S. Highway 80 near Savannah, was destroyed by fire Sunday morning, the Savannah-Chatham Police Department said.</p><p>When police arrived at the scene about 6 a.m., they found the restaurant engulfed in flames. Multiple fire units respondend and quickly gained control of the fire.</p><p>Fire personnel reported no injuries or fatalities after a sweep of the burned out structure.</p><p>Traffic was halted on U.S. 80 for about an hour.</p><p>Witnesses told police and fire personnel they heard a series of explosions before seeing the fire, police said. An investigation into the fire was underway.</p>
