COLLEGE PARK, Md. - John Gilchrist scored 20 points and fueled a second-half run that carried Number 24 Maryland past American 82-to-61 tonight.<br> <br> Nik Caner-Medley had 16 points and Travis Garrison added 14 for the Terrapins.<br> <br> Maryland led by only two before Gilchrist tossed an alley-oop pass to freshman James Gist, starting a 16-0 run that made it 66-to-48 with 6:19 left.<br> <br> It was the fourth straight victory for the Terrapins, who are now 7-and-2. It was also the fourth straight game in which Gilchrist scored at least 20 points.<br> <br> The Terrapins have won 12 straight against American since 1926, when the Eagles won the first game of the series.<br> <br> Jason Thomas scored 14 points for the Eagles, who fell to 5-and-3, snapping a five-game winning streak.
