GAINESVILLE - Many people in Northeast Georgia hoping to contribute to help those those suffering in the aftermath of the Asian Tsunami have an avenue through which they can funnel their contributions.

Kay Blackstock of the North Georgia Community Foundation said the organization serves as a liaison to international charities.

"They can make gifts of any size to the disaster relief fund," She said. "These folks can indicate what organization they would like their gift to go to and we can facilitate."

The disaster relief fund was established in 1998 when our area was hit by deadly tornados, among other things, it was used to benefit 9-11 victims.

The organization can be reached by phone at 770-535-7880, by mail at P.O. box 1513 Gainesville, GA 30503 or at the website listed below.
