Illinois signs two recruits

<p>Illinois' men's basketball team has signed two recruits so far and expects to sign a third next week for its 2005 recruiting class.</p><p>Coach Bruce Weber says he received a signed letter of intent today from 6-foot-2 guard Chester Frazier of Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Frazier averaged 16 points and eight assists last season playing for Lake Clifton-Eastern High School in Baltimore.</p><p>Weber calls Frazier a true point guard who is capable of taking over the position once junior Dee Brown departs.</p><p>Frazier joins 6-foot-3 guard Jamar Smith of Peoria Richwoods who signed a letter of intent Wednesday. Smith scored 20 or more points 15 times last season, and Weber calls him a "pure shooter."</p><p>Illinois is also expected to sign 6-foot-8 forward Charles Jackson of Buena Vista, Georgia, early next week.</p>
