October new home permits in Hall lowest of year

GAINESVILLE - October was the slowest month of the year for new home construction in Hall County.

According to Gainesville/Hall County Building Inspection Services, only 62 permits were okayed last month for such construction. That compares to 85 in September and 113 last October.

In the City of Gainesville, three single-family permits were approved.

Building activity in the city was, however, bolstered by 20 permits for commercial additions and renovations expected to cost almost three million dollars.
