Gwinnett Gladiators Weekly Update:
The Only Winner: Gladiators Captain Cam Brown has been the only player on the Gladiators to tally a game-winning goal this season. Gwinnett has only won three games during regulation this season and Brown has scored the game-winning goal in each game. Brown's 3 game-winning goals shares first in that category in the ECHL.
Record Watch: Captain Cam Brown continues to chase Rod Taylor's All time ECHL Games Played record. Brown needs just 18 more games to tie Taylor's 678 ECHL games played. Brown is scheduled to tie the record when the Gladiators travel to Greenville on December 30th and set the record when the Gladiators battle the Lynx in Augusta on January 1st. Brown broke the All-Time ECHL Penalty Minute record in last week's 4-1 loss in Mississippi.
In the Pros: Rookie forward Brad Schell tallied his first professional goal in the Gladiators 5-4 shootout win over the Texas Wildcatters on Tuesday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Schell also had the deciding goal in the seventh round of the shootout in the win.
In Chicago: Defenseman Lane Manson was called up to the Gladiators AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves on Thursday. In nine games this season before being recalled, the defenseman had not recorded a point for the Gladiators while posting 14 penalty mintues.
Scoring Lead: Jeff Campbell, Peter Flache and Chris Durno share the team lead in scoring with 9 points apiece. Durno and Campbell each added an assist in the Gladiators 5-4 shootout win over Texas on Tuesday while Flache recorded an assist on the Gladiators lone goal in Friday's 4-1 loss against Pensacola.
Add another to the tally: Mike Vigilante continues to pick up goals for the Gladiators adding to his team lead in that category with his sixth goal of the season in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Pensacola Ice Pilots. The Dearborn Michigan native needs just 9 more goals to tie his career high for goal in a season at 15, a record he set during the team's final year in Mobile.
Last Week's Games: 1-1-0, 2 pts.
