Mercer whips Albany St.

MACON - James Odums scored 16 points and Will Emerson had a career-high 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Mercer over Albany State 74-60 Saturday night.<br>

The Golden Rams (0-2) shot 64 percent in the first half to take a 38-30 lead at halftime, while Mercer hit just 38 percent.<br>
<br>
But the Bears (1-0) took their first lead at 45-44 when Andrew Brown, who scored 10 points off the bench, made a jumper with 14 minutes left in the game. During a three minute span, the Bears went on a 15-4 run capped by a Brown layup.<br>

Wesley Duke added 10 points and nine rebounds for Mercer.<br>
<br>
Nick Wallery had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Rams. Jarrett Mathis scored 15 and Tyrone Evans added 13.
