Hampton whips Savannah St.

SAVANNAH - Bruce Brown scored 18 of his 22 points in the first half when Hampton cruised to a 12-point lead on its way to a 70-52 victory over Savannah State on Sunday.<br>

Hampton (1-1) maintained a double digit lead throughout the second half in handing the winless Tigers their third loss of the season. Brown, who hit 10 of 16 shots, also had 19 rebounds.<br>

Josh Barker led Savannah State with 18 points and Lazarius Coleman added 12 points and 13 rebounds.<br>
<br>
Jeff Granger his 4 of 10 3-pointers and finished with 14 points for Hampton and Devin Green added 13 points.<br>
<br>
Hampton's biggest lead was 18 points coming at the end of the game and with 11:14 left in the game when Brown hit a layup to make it 55-37.
