COMMERCE - A mixed-use development similar to the one planned on Mundy Mill Road near Oakwood - but not as big - has been proposed for Commerce.
Chatham Holdings Corporation wants to build single-family homes, town houses and a retail center on almost 270 acres on the U.S. 441 bypass.
The Oakwood project, which was approved by the Gainesville City Council a few weeks ago, encompasses more than 600 acres.
Chatham has similar developments in Fulton and Forsyth counties.
