Vandy women clobber Savannah St.

SAVANNAH - Ashley Earley had 17 points and 13 rebounds for her second straight double-double, and led No. 14 Vanderbilt to a 61-28 victory Monday night over mistake-plagued Savannah State.<br>

The Commodores swarmed from the opening tip-off and smothered the Tigers, creating turnover after turnover. Vanderbilt (2-0) executed two successful traps, forced one over-and-back call, and had multiple steals in the opening minutes of the game.<br>
<br>
Dee Davis finished with five of the Commodores' 15 steals.<br>
<br>
Midway through the first half, Vanderbilt led 19-2 and held a 35-13 lead into the break.<br>

Abi Ramsey had three 3-pointers in the first half for Vanderbilt and finished with 13 points. Carla Thomas added 11<br>
<br>
Savannah State (1-1) was led by Kermetris Hill with nine points.
