Led by Marquise Wright third straight double-double and Jonas Randolph, the Knights crushing Stephens County 104-44 in the first round.
Wright scored 23 points in the first half to give Johnson a 53-19 lead. He finished the game with a double double, scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds. He also had 6 assists. Wright said he likes the direction the team is headed.
"I feel real confident. We've had a couple of games to get together and now I feel we are starting to gel," Wright said.
Randolph finished with 24 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Randolph transfered from East Hall to Johnson this year.
Johnson's coach Jeff Steel said he is glad to see his team improving.
"We're not where we want to be but we're getting there," Steele said. "After the game I praised my guy for staying focused after half-time even though we had such a big lead. The guys came out and stayed disciplined in the second half."
Johnson will face East Coweta on Saturday at North Hall.
