Keyser call center expected to create up to 200 jobs

<p>A new call center is expected to create between 150 and 200 jobs in Keyser by next summer, officials said.</p><p>Atlanta-based JAK Productions is opening its third West Virginia call center at the former Powertel site, said Anne Palmer, director of the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce.</p><p>The other JAK facilities are in Beckley and Parkersburg, said Jamie Spriggs, a company vice president.</p><p>The company is initially recruiting about 75 full-time and 50 part-time workers for a tentative Dec. 13 opening, Spriggs said.</p><p>Starting pay will be between $7 and $9 an hour, and the center is expected to run with up to 200 employees on four shifts by June.</p><p>JAK specializes in calls for charities such as police and firefighter organizations and for the National Child Leukemia Foundation.</p><p>The chamber was instrumental in getting the company to locate in a former Keyser High School building at the Grand Central Business Center, Spriggs said.</p>
