WASHINGTON - The Environmental Protection Agency has refused to waive a requirement that motorists in 13 North Georgia counties - including Forsyth and Gwinnett - use reformulated gasoline.
The special fuel is designed to protect catalytic converters which reduce pollution in automobile exhaust.
The counties are at the center of a 45-county region, which includes Hall County, where motorists must use the low-sulphur gasoline.
