Neither team could score a goal in the first half, but 13 minutes into the second half junior midfielder Henry Rohde (San Salvador, El
Salvador) scored off of an assist from junior forward Ciro Pelliccia(Conyers, Ga.).
Pelliccia added his second assist of the match when he connected with junior midfielder Jonathan Cueva (Quito, Ecuador) in the 62nd minute. The final goal of the match was scored by Pelliccia when he connected on an assist from junior midfielder Rene Alvarez (Dahlonega, Ga.).
Next up for the Saints is a non-conference home match against Oglethorpe University this Thursday at 7:30 pm. The Lions will face off
against Brewton-Parker College at home on Tuesday in a SSAC match scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm.
WOMEN'S PLAY
The Lady Saints defeated Emmanuel College 5-0 Saturday to improve to 8-5-1 overall and 4-3-0 in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC)while the Lady Lions drop to 4-9-0 and 1-7-0 in the SSAC.
Junior midfielder Brittny Peck (Lawrenceville, Ga.) got things going for North Georgia in the first half when she netted a goal off of an assist from senior defender Jackie Binford (Lawrenceville, Ga.).
Freshman midfielder Kelly Orear (Dahlonega, Ga.) dropped a corner kick into the box that was knocked in by sophomore striker Jessica Williams (Flowery Branch, Ga.) in the 33rd minute to give the Lady Saints the 2-0 lead.
Before the end of the second half, freshman midfielder Brittany Bruner (Snellville, Ga.) scored her first goal of the season to give North Georgia a 3-0 lead heading into the second half.
Three minutes into the second half, sophomore midfielder Meredith Lee (Lilburn, Ga.) knocked in an unassisted goal. The final goal of the
match came in the 68th minute when Peck headed a ball into senior midfielder Cory Orear(Dahlonega, Ga.) for the goal.
The Lady Saints next match will be a rescheduled match on the road at Reinhardt College this Monday at 4:00 pm. Next up for Emmanuel is Bewton-Parker College at home this Tuesday at 2:00 pm.
