LAWRENCEVILLE - Former Atlanta Braves center fielder Otis Nixon has been arrested once again.
Gwinnett County sheriff's deputies arrested Nixon on Thursday after the company holding his bond from a January arrested decided to no longer honor it.
He was brought to the Gwinnett County jail, where he remained Friday morning.
Nixon, 45, was arrested Jan. 8 for allegedly threatening his bodyguard with a knife at a hotel near Norcross. In that case, he was released on $3,350 bond.
But in February, Nixon was arrested in DeKalb County, accused of sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman, said DeKalb County police spokesman Dale Davis. He did not show up for an Oct. 13 court date in that case, prompting DeKalb County authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest.
That warrant caused Nixon's bond company to ``back off of his bond,'' said Gwinnett County sheriff's Lt. Nick Neal.

``It's their option,'' Neal said. ``When he did not show up for court, they may have thought he was going to flee.''
Nixon holds the Braves' single-season record for stolen bases with 72 in 1991. He stole 620 bases, 17th on the all-time list, in a 17-year major league career with nine teams from 1983 through 1999. He played for the Braves from 1991 through 1993 and again in 1999.
