West Hall falls to Pickens in Area 7-AAA finals

JASPER - After rolling through the first 13 games of the Area 7-AAA schedule unbeaten, the West Hall girls volleyball team has met its match over the last six matches.<br>
<br>
The Lady Spartans (25-14)fell to Pickens for the third time in just over a week Thursday night, this time with the area title on the line.<br>
<br>
Pickens whipped West Hall in a best-of-five format winning 25-20, 26-24, and 25-17 in the area finals.<br>
<br>
The Lady Dragons (28-6) have now won 11 straight matches and have not dropped a single game.<br>
<br>
Both teams still advance to the state tournament Saturday, October 30th. The opening rounds of the state tournament, which is a double-elimination format, will be played in one day at four different sites.<br>
<br>
The final four will be played Nov. 4 at marietta High School.<br>
<br>
Pickens will play the No. 2 seed from Area 3-AAA at 10 a.m. at Westminster in the opening round. West Hall will play the top seed from Area 3-AAA at 10 a.m. at Chestatee High School in Gainesville.
