Scholarship offered dependents of small business owners

GAINESVILLE - Dependents of owners of businesses in the Gainesville area with fewer than 20 employees are eligible for college scholarships being offered by the Padgett Business Services Foundation.

A $500 regional scholarship is being offered through Padgett Business Services in Gainesville.

Regional winners will be eligible for a $1,000 national scholarship and a $2,000 international scholarship.

The regional award is part of an international program through which Padgett has awarded over $500,000 to dependents of small business owners since 1990. Each application will be judged by an independent scholarship committee. Local winners will be announced in May.
