CORNELIA - The commander of the Northeast Georgia Drug Task Force has been injured during an investigation at a house in Habersham County.

According to Agent Greg Chastian, the incident happened Thursday when Chance Oxner stopped a vehicle near Cornelia to identify the driver, and asked her to step from the car.

Chastain says, instead, the woman drove away, with Oxner caught in the car. Oxner suffered a shattered collarbone and broken rib as he was thrown from the vehicle.

The suspect, who's name has not been
released, was captured after a vehicle and foot chase. Tracking dogs from Lee
Arrendale were brought in to help search for her.

The manhunt involved officers from the Cornelia, Baldwin, and Demorest police departments and the Habersham County Sheriff's Office.

Chastain says the suspect faces aggravated assault charges, with additional charges pending.
