Looking to minor league ball in Cherokee County

WOODSTOCK - An Indiana company is floating the idea of a minor league baseball team in Cherokee County. Victory Sports Group, which owns several minor league baseball and hockey teams, has asked the County Commission for permission to do a feasibility study. <br> <br> Victory owns franchises including the SouthShore RailCats baseball team in Gary, Indiana, and the Quad City Mallards hockey team in Moline, Illinois. <br> <br> The study will look at possible stadium sties in the Holly Springs-Woodstock area and measure potential fan support and corporate sponsors. The group wants to develop a minor league team that is affiliated with a major league team.
