Lakeview gets split with Whitefield Academy

GAINESVILLE - The depth of the Whitefield Academy boys basketball team proved too much for Lakeview Academy Saturday night.<br>
<br>
The Class A No. 2-ranked Wolfpack used a pair of big runs to begin the second and third quarters en route to a 61-34 win.<br>
<br>
In the girls game, Lakeview kept the Lady Wolfpack winless with a 58-27 win.<br>
<br>
The Lions were outscored 36-15 in the the second and part of the third quarters to blow open the game.<br>
<br>
Cameron Heywood led Whitefield with 15 points. Ryan Lamb added 10 for the Wolfpack.<br>
<br>
Lakeview (7-4) was led by Will Crumley with 9 points.<br>
<br>
In the the girls game, Chelsey Chastain and Hannah Bennett each poured in 14 points to lead the Lady Lions (7-4) to the win.<br>
<br>
Lakeview had 10 different players score. Christi Thomas added 13 for the Lady Lions.<br>
<br>
After leading just 14-8 at the end of the first quarter, Lakeview outscored the Lady Wolfpack (0-12) 25-12 in the second quarter to blow the game open.<br>
<br>
Lakeview then held Whitefield to just 7 points in the secopnd half to put the game away.
