Mercer falls to UCF

ORLANDO, FLORIDA - Dexter Lyons scored 18 points, including two free throws with six-and-a-half seconds left, to lead Central Florida over Mercer 60-56 Monday night. <br>

It was the seventh straight victory for the Golden Knights and their best start ever in the Atlantic Sun Conference.<br>
<br>
UCF (9-2, 4-0) took its first lead in the second half when a Gary Johnson three-pointer made it 31-to-28 with 16:52 remaining. <br>
<br>
The Knights led by as many as nine points at 51-42 following a slam dunk by Josh Peppers, but Mercer (5-8, 2-2) cut the deficit to 56-53 on a three-pointer by Tyler McCurry with 35 seconds left.<br>

Will Emerson's three-pointer with eight seconds remaining brought the Bears to 58-56, but Lyons sealed the game in the final seconds.<br>
<br>
Roberto Morentin added 17 points for UCF, while Delmar Wilson led the Bears with 13 points and Emerson had 12.
