FLOWERY BRANCH - Behind 10 points each from Whitney Pruitt and Heather Poole, the East Hall girls basketball team pulled off the 57-49 upset win over Class AAA No. 6 Flowery Branch Tuesday night.

It was the second loss in three games for the Lady Falcons (10-4, 0-1 Region 7-AAA South) since winning the Lanierland Tournament last month.

East Hall (9-4, 1-0) used an 18-6 second quarter to grab the lead and never look back. The Lady Vikings led 40-27 at the start of the fourth quarter but then Flowery Branch got going.

After freshman Courtney Newton stole an inbounds pass and scored on a layup, the Lady Falcons climbed to within four of East Hall. But they could not get closer.

Beth Adcock led Flowery Branch with 17 points and Newton finished with 15. Kristina Tyler was held to just 6 points.
