The senior point guard did not disappoint Tuesday night. Galbiati hit five throws in the final minute to help preserve a 52-46 win over North Hall in a critical Region 7-AAA North game.
The win for the Lady Warriors (7-5, 1-0) also avenged an earlier loss to the Lady Trojans (4-6, 0-1) in the White County Tournament.
"We want the ball in her hands. She's a senior and has great ball handling skills," Burkett said. "She hit the shots and that was the difference (Tuesday night)."
After the two teams battled to a 37-37 tie at the end of the third quarter, White County used a quick run to grab the lead. North Hall cut it to 47-46 on a basket by Beth Ann Hamilton but would not score again as Galbiati took control for White County.
"We worked hard on the defensive end to not give them anything at the end. We did a good job," Burkett said.
Galbiati finished with a game-high 21 points to lead White County. Molly McDonald added 8 points for the Lady Warriors.
Caitlyn Tilson, who hit a game-winning shot last week to beat No. 6 Flowery Branch, led North Hall with 14 points. Megan Westmoreland added 10 points.
The Lady Trojans travel to Chestatee Friday for another key subregion game before beginning a three-game homestand next week.
It was a big win for White County, whose next two subregion games are on the road, at Fannin County Friday and then at Pickens next Tuesday.
